This design-build project is situated on a UNESCO World Heritage site which contains protected cultural resources. Management of the impact on the sensitive thermal spring environment which is a habitat area for the endangered Banff Springs Snail is critical. The project is high visibility in a public area of Banff and had to be completed with minimum disruption to visitors, operations or staff in the general vicinity. Immediately adjacent the site, were four other projects which affected this project and which had to be respected so that overall continuity of the site is maintained. By applying a rigorous schedule, budget, quality and scope controls throughout all phases of the project while complying with all sustainable development requirements, we successfully completed this project on schedule and on budget.
