Our national special services group (SSG) has collaborated with The Keg on nine projects across Canada, including in Burnaby, Edmonton, Calgary, and Toronto. The Keg is a Canadian restaurant chain with humble beginnings in Vancouver, British Columbia. In the early 2000s, the company experienced massive growth and expanded from coast to coast, opening its 100th location.
During each project we relied on experience gained at prior Keg locations to update exterior and interior paint, interior finishes, flooring, glass paneling on patios, furniture reupholstering, updating lighting fixtures, and fireplace replacements. On each project, our teams collaborated during pre-construction, planning, execution, and closeout. Learnings from each project helped support the execution plan for the next project.
In Burnaby, BC, our team faced a new challenge during construction. The restaurant needed repairs and remediation work due to a sink hole stretching from the exterior to the building’s interior. Following the success of this project, our team completed three more location improvements in Alberta.
Most recently, we completed renovations on The Keg locations across the Greater Toronto Area. Locations in Peterborough, Ajax, and Burlington received a complete interior and exterior revamp and each restaurant had ongoing plumbing issues repaired, automated doors installed, and a new coat storage system installed in the back of house staff area.
Our ability to blend teams across multiple provinces helped to facilitate the rollout of nine new locations. While each restaurant required different scopes of work, our teams communicated with each other, trades, partners, and the client to ensure the work was streamlined.
