We completed an energy retrofit to this facility using an integrated design methodology which allowed us to align the goals of the team members and those of the customer. In doing so, traditional barriers were broken down and significant waste was eliminated. New mechanical and electrical systems were installed in a phased manner while the facility was operational so that research was not disrupted. Numerous space utilization improvements were incorporated. Construction on the facility was delivered using a collaborative construction management process that allowed us to optimize cost, schedule, and quality while causing little to no disruption in daily business.
