We completed an energy retrofit to this facility using an integrated design methodology which allowed us to align the goals of the team members with the goals of the customer. In doing so, traditional barriers were broken down and significant waste was eliminated. This project entailed new mechanical and electrical systems installed in a phased manner while the facility was operational so that research was not disrupted. In addition there were numerous space utilization improvements which were incorporated. Construction on the facility was delivered using a collaborative construction management process that allowed us to optimize cost, schedule and quality, while maintaining little to no disruption in day to day business.
